WWPLAC Season 2024-25

  The Little Athletics Season Starts in October and will run over summer until March.

Registration opens the first week of August. 

Registration costs $170 for the first child and there is a family discount applied for each registration thereafter.   

Active Kids Vouchers can be applied.

Weekly Programs

Program Overview

We run a 3-week program with slight variations over a six week period. 

Programs are reviewed at the commencement of each season and are adjusted depending on the number of athletes in each age group.

The examples shown here illustrate how the competition nights are run and is updated through the season.

Championships

Our club athletes can participate in a variety of carnivals and representative competitions.

Inter-club carnivals occur regularly throughout the season at locations all across the state. Invites are available via Results HQ and sent via email to all registered athletes.

The NSW Little Athletics website has the most up-to-date championships information.

Zone Competition takes place in early December and is held at Mingara Athletics Centre.  Athletes self nominate to participate in four to six events depending on their age. 

Regional Championships take place in February each year.  Athletes who qualify from Zone carnival progress to this level of competition.  The location rotates from year to year around the region.

State Championships take place in March each year and are held at Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre (SOPAC). 

Athletes who qualify participate a National Competition in May.  

Central Coast Zone Championships

Dates: Saturday 30 November to Sunday 1 December 2019

Location: Mingara

Athletes in the age groups U7 through to U18 are eligible for this event. Athletes in U7 to U12 age groups may enter up to 4 events. Athletes in U12 to U17 age groups may enter up to 6 events.
 
Note that there is a fee per athlete that needs to be paid to the Championships Officer. Our Club will does subsidise the the registration fee.
 
Please note also that all families with participating athletes are required to assist with a parent helper volunteer duty over the competition.

 

Central Coast Zone Championships

Dates: Te be advised

Location: Mingara

Athletes in the age groups U7 through to U17 are eligible for this event. Athletes in U7 to U11 age groups may enter up to 4 events. Athletes in U12 to U17 age groups may enter up to 6 events.
 
Note that there is a $5 fee per athlete that needs to be paid to our Championships Officer, Melanie Charlton. Our Club will subsidise the remainder of the registration fee for participating athletes.
 
Please note also that all families with participating athletes will be required to assist with volunteer duties over the weekend. More details to follow.

McEvoy Oval Tuesday & Thursday Training

 

WWPLAC hires McEvoy Oval on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for club training.  Qualified coaches volunteer their time to provide specialised training to interested athletes.  Our coach Kevin Wills coordinates training and is at McEvoy Oval from 5 – 6 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  All registered athletes are welcome to attend.

Please contact us if you are interested in participating in additional training sessions or are able to volunteer your time to coach. 

Training & Coaching

Our club offers track and field training and coaching on Tuesday and Thursday during the competition season for those athletes who are interested in improving their performance for competition.
